5 Things I Won't Miss About London.....

  1. Men wearing trainers with their suits on their way to work- If your shoes are that uncomfortable that you can't sit on a tube in them, have you bought the right shoes?
  2. The Bank Station interchange between the Northern and Central line.
  3. Bendy Busses- Rubbish
  4. London Pride Bitter- I really wanted to like it but I just don't.
  5. Angus Steakhouses- I have never been in one. I don't need to.

  1. 1. I don't mind the suit with trainers look, 5. I too have never been to an angus steakhouse but I can get 2 for one with my WOW card so maybe we should check one out

  2. I like the notion of wearing trainers with a suit but whereas I think it’ll make me look like Huey Lewis, it actually makes me look like Rab C Nesbitt so the idea never makes it out of the door.

In other news, I did some Londunny things this weekend...

    - Charles Dickens Museum: I had great expectations, but 48 Doughty Street was rather a bleak house…disappointing, particularly after forking out a £7 entry fee to the artful old codger on the door. It was more confusing than anything else, I think I now know less about the man than when I went in.

    - Choir practice in St Alban the Martyr in Holborn: I would highly recommend going to see this on a Saturday afternoon, although probably not in a group, as I got the impression I wasn’t supposed to be there.

    - A pint in the Fox & Anchor pub, Clerkenwell: An interesting stop on the continual fact finding mission to find the perfect boozer (with a view to one day owning one). Worth visiting to drink beer from an iron tankard - but very gastro, on their website it says…‘the pub just got chic’ – oh dear.

    - Brunswick House: A Georgian mansion that sticks out like a sore thumb on the Vauxhall roundabout, this place is now a remarkable junk shop / antique furniture store – selling pretty much everything (including an entire room of kitchen sinks). If you go, try the café.

    - Battersea Park: Is always better than I think it’s going to be. Which might mean that next time I go it’ll be rubbish.

And finally….if you like tapas, go to Angels and Gypsies off Camberwell Green – a few doors down from Funky Munky and wedged between the usual takeaways, this hidden gem is first rate and very affordable. Camberwell just got chic….
